longley-cook memorial

This sustainable gathering space was created in memory of Jane Longley-Cook, a long-time friend and employee of Mann Library at Cornell University.

Finding large felled black locust and grey stone for the seating and tables was an adventure deep into the local forests and stone quarries. Visitors to the Cornell Library submitted words reflective of the importance of higher education. Selected text was then sandblasted onto stainless steel bands.
